Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Our appointment was at 10:15. We went in at 1:00pm very nice officer asked us regular questions my husband forgot my grandmother’s name but no biggie. The officer forgot to asked for our medicals. I went back to dropped it off. The next day at 6:00am I get the notification that card is being produced. I am not happy they kept my tax returns, I forgot to make copies.

It was overall a good experience.

The wait was exactly 2 hours which made me laugh cause all the reviews here said 2 hours. The interview was set to be 10:15, interview started around 12:15 and received card in production case status change at 14:30.

The systems were down so that was a hustle but the lady was nice enough (however we had hard time understanding her English both me and hubby)

Asked the classic i-485 questions. And why we moved to NJ etc.
Most questions were to my husband than me(I’m the applicant 🤷🏻‍♀️)

Things we showed: driver licenses, my passport, wedding album book, hubby birth cert. original)

Things they took: pictures, bank statements, driver license copies, hubby birth cert. copy)

Advice: Have copies of everything that you don’t want to give original of. So they won’t have to take copies and take extra time.

Everything was quick and not too many questions asked. Officer was very polite and the entire process lasted only about 15 minutes.

Had our interview Jan 31, 2019, for my wife to get her green card. Basic questions asked such as how did we meet and where.

Advice for others, go over the security questions if your significant other is English second language. They will ask them to answer them all at the end of the interview and your spouse may not know the more complex words (i.e. espionage, treason, etc..).

In this day and age, the 2-hour waits should be eliminated, have an allotted time for interviews and stick with the schedule. People late for interviews get rescheduled. I am moving the score down because of the lengthy waiting period.
